I explored an abandoned lawyer's office and salvaged some nice wood panel (with permission)
I created a series of paintings on these panels, of things I had noticed while living in paphos, luxury gass is layered with meaning. The gas price rose 10% each year as well as other costs of living, within 4 years many objects quickly became 'a luxury' I got used to cold showers and lifting rocks for weights, the gas faded from being something necessary to becoming a symbol of adaptability… hence 'gass'
I want each piece of my work to be as clean, professional and sustainable as possible. So I forage and repair 'canvases' materials and frames.
I want consumers/creators to consider the origins of materials and the new life that they have been given
